Faculty Mentor Development Programme(FMDP)
The Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Uttarakhand has 122 Higher Educational Institutions (Universities, University campuses and Degree Colleges) that are practicing in the fields of Humanities, Arts, Commerce, Science, Management, Technology, and Engineering, besides creating awareness about entrepreneurship. However, creating awareness about entrepreneurship is limited to workshops or seminars, which is not sufficient to create entrepreneurial mindset in students. Researchers have found that entrepreneurship cannot be taught in a seminar or colloquium, it has to be transplanted in the aspirant with a strategic set of rubrics seeing the need.
With more than four decades of experience, the EDII has prepared a Six Days programme for the faculties. This Faculty Mentor Development Programme (FMDP) at the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) is an immersive and comprehensive initiative designed to empower educators and mentors in fostering entrepreneurship development, under the Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana. This program is tailored to equip faculty members with the necessary skills, knowledge and tools to guide and nurture aspiring entrepreneurs effectively.
Throughout the six days, participants engage in a dynamic curriculum to enhance their understanding of entrepreneurial concepts, methodologies and best practices. The program covers many topics including entrepreneurial mindset, business ideation and value proposition, business model development, mentorship techniques, networking, ecosystem building, technology and innovation etc. The program utilizes a combination of workshops, case studies, interactive sessions, and practical exercises to facilitate an engaging learning experience. Participants can collaborate, share experiences, and develop actionable strategies to enhance their mentoring capabilities.
Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana, aim of the Faculty Mentor Development Programme is to create a network of proficient mentors across the state who can guide and inspire Uttarakhand's next generation of entrepreneurs.
