About the department of History
The department of History of Government Degree Kichha U.S.Nagar (Uttarakhand) is an affiliated department of Kumaun University-Nainital. This department was started along with six other subjects. This college was established in the year of 2019.
The department of history has been doing well and contributing in the upgrading of higher education and the scientific development of the college. Under the NEP-2020, students can choose or opt major core, minor electrical, small research projects, technical development / vocational courses in the department.The following professors have provided their valuable services to the department from time to time:-

From 13th July 2024, Prof. Seraj Mohammad has been continuously working as the professor of history and in charge of the department. It is noteworthy that all the professors till now have wide experience of teaching and research works. The above-mentioned professors are highly qualified and holders of NET or Ph.D degree according to UGC norms.
The department of History is a U.G. College that serves as a foundation for the students to understand Indian History and its Culture. It is a dynamic and multidisciplinary field that delves into the study of social, political, economic, religious conditions, different works and achievements. It also provides valuable information about the cultural aspects of Indian Civilization and abroad too.
Key Features:-
The curriculum has been designed to provide information regarding Indian society and culture throughout the ages. The economic, political, social situations and beliefs. It also provides valuable information about the Indian cultural heritage and its glory of the past. Core subjects typically include critical thinking, encouraging analytical approaches to contemporary Historical issues.
Research:-
Fostering investigative skills through assignments, projects and research.
Communication:-
Enhancing writing and oral communication through debate, discussion and presentation. The department prepares the students to pursue careers in various competitive examinations, research, museum-archaeology academica and other fields of self generated occupations.
