Affiliated to Kumaun University, Nainital, the department of English was introduced in 2019, with the establishment of college. The department has been functioning under an assistant professor and contributing to act according to the benchmarks set by higher education and achieve the mission of all round development of students. As per the guidelines of NEP, the department provides students an opportunity to choose the subjects of ‘major’, ‘minor elective’, ‘core’, ‘research project’, and ‘co- curricular’ according to their interest and understanding. Presently, Dr. Maneesha Pandey is in charge of the department. Before that, it was held by Mrs. Deeksha Tripathi.
The department is dedicated to develop interest in literature and make students sensitive and familiar with its role in mirroring and mending society. Regular assessments and competitions are organized to develop their insightfulness and understanding of the subject.
